In August Norma and Brian McNally of Swansea embarked on a remarkable journey to Tanzania. Brian is the brother of Sr. Eleanor McNally, SUSC, who ministered in Tanzania over a period of twenty-five years. He and his two brothers had visited Sr. Eleanor in 2004. Both Norma and Brian have recently retired and they wanted to share their skills with the youth of Tanzania: Brian as a computer programmer and Norma as a science teacher. They volunteered for two months at a Catholic secondary school sponsored by the Diocese of Dar es Salaam. They also visited the Holy Union Sisters from the Anglo-Hibernian Tanzanian Province. The international Holy Union community in Dar es Salaam includes sisters from England, Ireland and Tanzania. The sisters have recently begun two new educational ministries: Debrabant Secondary School, a co-ed high school and Matumaini Center for handicapped children. This video offers us a glimpse of these ministries. To learnmore about the life of Holy Union Sisters in Tanzania, their newsletter, TIDINGS. The August and December 2010 issues are available below.
